There are actually a group of men and women; I use the term loosely as Ihave my doubts as to whether they are even an 'intelligent life-form', who sit atopthe stairs, at the back of a pub, next door to where I live.
They're all rather rat-like; hunched, beady-eyed, long faced and probablyriddled with most known diseases.
Yesterday, they addressed my friend and I as we passed, making an inaccuratejibe about the relationship between us, though I'm assured that they weren'tconcerned about the accuracies of their remark.
I glanced at the group and was taken aback to see men older than myself, satthere amongst the youths, wearing similar tracksuits and drinking out of thesame cider bottle.
As I made my analysis of these Ladies and Gentlemen, one of them shoutedsomething in 'Kidulthood-English', some variation on the term 'Pussyo', which I’mtold is an offensive remark, in their culture, for two men who walk past a gangof 9, that are mashed out of their brains and probably on their second ASBO.
I'm told by my friends that their dedication to their cause is unprecedented,that they will sit there, making loud, verbal analysis' of passers-by, day ornight, rain or shine.

My, to spend nearly every waking hour on a hard floor, atop some cold steps,getting nauseous off cheap cider, attempting to insult and intimidate thegeneral public for the recognition of other like-minded individuals.
I tip my cap to the particular brand of grit required for this; I could nevermake such a lifestyle choice without enduring strong feelings of underachievementand guilt...the feeling that I was no different than the Tracksuit next to me.

Well, I’ve got a piece of mind-numbingly, frustrating coursework that has gotme bouncing off the fucking walls. It's got to be in for Monday and two more infor Thursday and we haven’t been told accurately what to do.
A lecturer has been unresponsive when I’ve tried to contact him and now mylaptops crapped out with all my work on it.
I suppose it's my fault, I could have e-mailed different members of thedepartment, I could have explored different avenues in the hope of achievingsome motivation but...I didn't. Yes I’m an idiot and now I’m pretty fucked.
Currently, enduring vast amounts of self-respect right now.

Most people have suffered with some degree of sleep deprivation before, so Idon't know whether to document it, over the next 2 months or so. I'd hate forit to be seen as an attention seeking ploy rather than a study of the effectsof a lack of sleep on the human mind. I'm probably going to report, on morethan one occasion, times when I’m feeling a bit 'down in the dumps', as canhappen during long sleepless periods.

You're dying of boredom, you've slyly checkedyour phone for the 100th time and you can feel the 'whatever' winding down.
Eventually the talker admits defeats and ~~asks~~ states casually, 'Anyquestions.'
You freeze with baited breath. You know that there isn't an appropriatequestion to ask about what’s been said because it's been repeated over and overand over again. You can smell freedom.
'No, no questions.' The talker repeats quietly, picking up their jacket.
You're looking round at the usual culprits, thinking 'just maintain, we'renearly out, nobody actually wants you to say...'
'So with the insurances, we just write them on the board?'
Boom. Slumped back in your seat feeling a mixture of loathing, frustration anddespair. Idiot, we've heard about insurances for the last hour, and you clearlyknow what you're supposed to do because you've just said it but now the talkersgoing to repeat it all, then he'll remember something he'd forgotten frombefore and go off on a whole different tangent. Stuck for another hour.
The cretin who asked the question is looking pleased with himself, glancinground for approval.

Dreams

I always seem to have memorable dreamswhilst intoxicated.
Last night I dreamt that I'd gone to meet a girl at her house and I wasn't surewhich one was hers so I picked a house at random. Obviously, it wasn't her thatanswered, it was some bloke. I was half way through asking him where she livedwhen I forgot her name, I looked at my phone and eventually remembered it, andthen he walked out of his door and pointed to a house across the road. He saidhe recognised me and that he'd read some of my work. Flattered, I thanked himand set off across the road, then the dream 'jumped'.
Suddenly, some of my friends and I were walking down the stairs in a housingblock when a gang of 'Chavs' appeared behind us, we could only see three malesto begin with, all were clad in grey tracksuits, two with blue baseball caps onand one with a bobbly, shaved head that very much resembled a potato. One ofthem said 'what you doin', you want a fight.' Another addressed me saying'Don't start Johnno'. Johnno is not my name haha.
We continued down the stairs and could hear them sprinting down behind us,discussing loudly whether they'd attack us or not. Then the dream jumped again.
I was sat on a low wall, in the forecourt of the housing block, the Chavs weredotted around me, still discussing whether or not to injure me, my friends werenowhere to be seen, there was just an old man sat beside me.
Our conversation went something like this;
Him: 'Alright mate, you live round here.'
Me: 'No, I just came to meet a girl like, now I’m going to fight these Chavs.'
Him: Why?
Me: They're going to go for me anyway aren't they?
Him: True
Me: So, you live round here?
Him: Yeah, lived here 50 years or so an...
(His voice got very quiet)
Me: Can you speak up a mate, I’m a bit deaf.
(He was completely silent now though his lips were still moving, there was aringing, much like 'shell shock' in old war films, after a bomb has explodedclose by.)
The dream jumped again.
Now I was strolling through a deserted shopping mall, the gang of Chavs were hoton my heels and shouting obscenities.
I got to the exit and found the shutters down, the Chavs stopped behind me.
Two of them approached me, as a sat on a bench, a male and female.
'You hit my mate, didn't ya?' Said the Male.
'No.' I said
'Yeah you did!' Yelled the female.
'Yes.' I said
'Did you just say yes?' Asked the female with a smirk.
'Sure, why not?' I replied with a smile.
I heard the potato-headed Chav walking away.
The girl shouted, 'Where ya goin'?'
'This is fucking shit.' He replied.
'Don't go!' She said.
'Na, this is shit. I'm going.' He said and ran up some stairs, all except thegirl followed.
I realised that we were stood next to a deserted but CCTV monitored policeoffice, she noticed too.
'Are you gonna grass?' She asked.
'No, I’d never talk to a copper but you are on CCTV.'
She began to spit on the floor.
'What are you doing?' I asked.
'So it looks like I’ve been crying.' She replied.
The dream jumped.
I was walking out of the shopping mall into the daylight.

Blogging Whilst Under The Influence Of Intoxicant(s) - Part 1 (ANALYSIS)

It really was 'incoherent drivel' wasn't it; an initial listing of how much alcoholI’d consumed, as if I needed to justify my intoxication. There was some verydirect, personal cursing, which turned almost immediately into an expression ofapproval of a female’s appearance and customer service.
When I say 'without people turning their noses up', I’m referring to somepeople who tend to criticise me, when I’m intoxicated at uni, i.e. security andstudents and the occasional person from a privileged background.

So, to summarise; incoherence, direct cursing, an analysis of a member of theopposite sex, a complaint, suggestions of violence; 'and you always have therisk of getting bottled', meaning our nightclubs are considered ratherdangerous, and concluded with some meaningful postal script, that iscompletely unintelligible.
On the whole, a fairly, common reaction to the 'excessive' (so they say) consumption of alcohol.

Well, i've had 8 pints of lager, a Captain Morgan and Coke, and i've hit the Peroni. I don't usually drink Peroni but their you fucking go. lol. Couple of starers down the local. long 'aired pricks who'd they think they are, the fucking scum. better than the usual non-local chav scum that's been infiltrated the clientelle I tell you.
Nice too be back though, at a proper place, beautiful northern barmaids who start pouring my pint as soon as I walk through the door, one of them actually calls me 'Carlsberg' haha. nice to be a local again.
I plan to venture into town, where the real bastards are, on friday, haha the day before I go back to uni, i miss the working class atmosphere from my home town it's been cool haha, where you can say whatever you want without anyone turning their noses up and you always have the risk of getting bottled. haha love it.

I'm lying in the bath, with a cup o'tea, silently grumbling to myself about howone of the short stories in the 2011 edition of 'Various Authors', has manyconnotations of a particular Australian Comedy Series, when suddenly I’m struckwith an idea for an exciting experiment.

Something, somebody had said, at some point, was echoing in my subconscious;something about how they shouldn't be allowed near a Social Network afterthey'd had one too many. ('Huh', I thought, 'that’s your excuse for yourinfuriating status’?')

'Hmmm, what about 'Drunk Blogging', I thought, ‘Ranting feverishly about asubject after five+ pints.'
Five pints would, by no means, get me drunk, but I’d be under the influence.

I don't know how folk can whine about being 'depressed' or'lonely' when they're in a relationship. 'I feel so alone right now :(' 'Justwish I had someone to talk too.' Kindly, shut up!
If you're in a relationship, then you shouldn't have these problems.
When I express these feelings of disapproval I usually have some damned, know-it-all, sympathetictype pipe up with some sort of sickly hog-wash:

I challenge that if it had been a white individual who'd made such a foul, racist slur against a black individual, they'd but fired, up on charges, their name would be dirt. And she's been 'asked' to step down? This was TWO days ago. Racism should be punished accordingly, regardless of the colour of an individual’s skin. It's something that shouldn't exist in modern society.

I've been staring at the same spot on this page for a few days now, I've typed it up, spell checked it, moved some parts around, basically done everything I can to avoid doing some actual work. It's not that I don't want to do the work; it's that I’m just on auto-pilot. When you've confined yourself to the house for 4-5 days, in the determination to do some work, the inactivity makes you feel like your staring at a brick wall, a half inch from the end of your nose. I’m not thinking, I don't feel anything, an occasional twinge at the back of my head, that’s all. I’m not even bored anymore. I feel no spark of creativity, like I’m not living, merely existing. Do I continue and hope to become spontaneously inspired or abandon in the hope of finding a stimulating activity, whilst enduring the guilt?

As you've probably guessed, I’m sick of people who insist on filling my 'Facebook Newsfeed' with attention seeking vomit. You know those I mean, the cretins who delete their status' if they don't get 'enough' likes, people who regularly edit their relationship status (even if in real life it hasn’t actually changed), people who are looking for the smallest excuse to put a sad status up and people who put stupid status' that make no sense just for likes.

(I'm well aware that this blog looks as though it's becoming a bit of a personal vendetta against ‘Facebook’ but to be honest a lot of this blog is about observing and criticising the grotesque hell that is today’s society...and a big part of modern society is ‘Facebook’.
Furthermore, for the record, I consider ‘Facebook’ to be a fantastic invention and a revolutionary tool for maintaining social connections, particularly over distance and time.
I'm merely commenting on some of the users on ‘Facebook’, the same way I would if I heard them on the street.)

Becoming A Student.

I may be a student but I’ll never be a 'Student'.
Allow me to explain; a student is a member of the human population who attends an establishment of education, in my case, University.
However, a 'Student' is a detestable fiend who adopts this whole new persona as soon as they set foot on campus.
They disguise what they have been for the last 18 years+ and pretend they're something else completely. They’ll pretend to be kooky or amusing or confident so-as to bamboozle their new peers.
They gain a new language within days, talking jibberish and jargon to which their former 'friends' back home couldn’t possibly relate.
They change their hair and they throw on ridiculous garments they wouldn't be seen dead in on home turf.
They forget previous customs and become opinionated about movements they care nothing for.
These phantoms are among the most foul of the General Public.

I can't help but condemn the desperate folk who spew the same bile around every Christmas; 'This year’s been awful...here’s too next year...a brighter future...bla, bla, bla.' When are they going to stop flapping and glue their heads back on?
A wake up call; next year, more than likely, will be no better than this one, in fact, it'll probably be worse as you'll be a year older. There's a fraction of a chance you’ll compromise and find someone to ‘love’ or maybe chance upon a £50 note, dropped in the street or that phone you love, that broke, might spontaneously start working again.
People do win the lottery but chances are your life will remain the same as it did last year and the year before that and so on.
It's best to maintain, plug on, and stop hoping that Life will eventually make you a better person. Try to make the best of the hand you've been dealt. If life turns out to have a reward lying in wait, congratulations, jolly good show, it'll find you, in the meantime stop clutching at straws.
I'm sick of seeing my ‘Facebook’ polluted by blind optimism that I’m sure the sheep have copied from another person ‘Profile’ and just moved some words round.
I'm almost certain that these people don't honestly believe in this rubbish, nobody’s that ignorant.
It must all be for 'Likes', the lowest form of recognition in existence. How vile.

A Programme Worth Watching (ii)

Well, just watched the third and final episode of 'Black Mirror' and, by god, it's awesome.

It’s the not-so-distant future and everybody has a memory chip installed that they can rewind and view at their pleasure.
Liam, some polite, happy, lawyer type, returns from a business assessment to surprise his girlfriend, (Ffion) at a party, they both thought he would be unable to attend.
At the party, Liam encounters a suit called Jonas.
Jonas is wide-mouthed, arrogant and cocky but universally loved by all those at the table, much to the amazement of Liam and any other male viewer who isn't a 'Jonas'.
When dinner is called Jonas seizes the interest of everyone at the table, telling them why relationships are useless and boring; providing reasons people shouldn't remain committed. There is little attempt to stop this controversial sales pitch of Jonas' and when the host’s friend arrives, she is introduced too 'Jonas...and everyone.'
Jonas, continues too rabble on through the light din of giggling girls and male 'Jonas-wannabes'. He eventually hits on a particularly controversial subject, about how he enjoyed recalling his previous encounters, with women, from the comfort of an armchair, before having sex with his then current partner. The table, at last, settles into an uncomfortable silence.
Jonas senses the danger and addresses the room; 'Guys...come on.' and basically states, 'We all do it.'
The hosts 'late' friend, says frostily, 'I don't.'
She then explains that she'd had her memory chip removed 12 months ago, holding all memories of 'romantic encounters' and that she has a scar behind her ear.
Jonas immediately seizes the opportunity to establish physical contact and touches the scar; 'Yeah...feels quite nice’.
The host’s friend laughs and shares a joke with Jonas, all feelings of negativity apparently quenched. Liam looks, understandably, amazed at what is happening before his eyes.
Jonas calls it 'Cool' that she'd done without a memory chip for a few days before having it replaced.
Another woman at the table, looks resentful of the attention Jonas is giving too this newcomer and tells her that this is a common practice among 'hookers’.
The newcomer gives a nervous laugh and says 'She could only do with one man at a time.'
A 'Jonas wannabe' boos.
'A serial Monogamist?' Asks Ffion, jokingly.
Jonas immediately chips in with; 'I'm a cereal monogamist...I’m staying faithful to my cornflakes right now.'
Ffion gives an over exaggerated giggle and Liam looks on curiously at Ffion's reaction to the, rather bland, quip.

As the episode continues Liam reviews the party, via the memory chip, over and over. He grows increasingly suspicious, despite Ffion's repeated denials of anything serious ever happening between her and Jonas.

Liam eventually confronts Jonas while drunk and it becomes apparent that his loving, innocent girlfriend has been cheating on him with this arrogant man. What’s more, he’s even pulled the hosts friend from the party.

Liam, apparently ends the relationship with Ffion but appears horribly depressed, that although he was a loving and respectful boyfriend, his girlfriend, who appeared nothing like a common tramp, would rather sleep with a selfish, uncaring prick, 'while she was drunk.' A poor excuse in my opinion; we all know what men like that are like and she shouldn't have gone for a drink with him in the first place.

On a viewers note, I’d just like too comment on what an honest portrayal of the majority of relationships nowadays.
You see groups on 'Facebook' about how 'All lads are dickheads.' That millions of women have joined. No! 'All Jonas' are dickheads' and women increasingly choose to sleep with these guys (often while they are with a loving partner).
I'll bet Ffion made a status saying 'All lads are dickheads' after Liam split with her and all her friends liked it and agreed with her, slating the male community and telling her 'how she can do better'

They'd rather disagree and then cheat on their 'Nice Guy' boyfriends with 'Jonas-Types' or get cheated on by their attractive, blatantly 'Jonas-Type boyfriends' and then join a group on Facebook to scrape up the support of other, blind idiots.

A Programme Worth Watching

Black Mirror. A psychological drama (on Channel 4) with no lovey dovey mush or unrealistic happy endings. An honest and gripping programme if ever there was one.
If you can repress a scene, in the first episode, where man becomes one with beast, so to speak, then I would defiantly recommend watching it.

I immediately realise that I'm making a snap judgement, as I've only seen the first two episodes. If it turns out to be anything less than what I’ve described above then I intend to remove this post and have a serious word with myself.

Authority Has An Issue With Me.

I think it's been over a year, since I left the job too which I am about to refer. I won't name the company because I’d hate to generate any bad publicity for them. I'm just a good sport like that.
I'm typing this from my room at University, far away from the individuals who have been speaking ill of me. Furthermore, I've had no social interaction with them since leaving my job. I had, in fact, become ignorant of their existence. I will add, however, that they had nothing but good things to say about me when I was within three feet of them.
A good acquaintance, and ex-work colleague of mine, informed me, little over two hours ago that three+ managers, at said previous job, have been speaking rather ill of 'My Gang' and I. Managers who should command respect and admiration.
'My Gang', a group of work colleagues who stood by me when a previous romantic interest betrayed me, lied about it and set about turning a large majority of the work force against me. She succeeded in wrapping and double knotting the management around her little finger, in what I can only estimate as little under an hour.
From that point on we were considered the 'blackest' of sheep.
Not to dwell on the ancient history too much: 'Our Gang' began to leave the company one by one, becoming increasingly appalled at the standard of management and the corruption within.
Now, as I said, over a year later, I've heard they refer to me as 'a teenage drunk'. Well who doesn't love a party? I wonder what they did in their youth, frequented lectures on 'building charisma' no doubt.
There allegations about my friends range from 'slacker' too 'trouble makers'.
These labels remain unimportant, the relevance lies in this...they've taken time, out of there meaningful existences, to verbally criticize my character; I find this tremendous. May I forever be remembered as an infamous nuisance, in their justified and extensive profiling of ‘The Help’.
